Composite Sidesword (Blade based on Viennese Civilian Armoury Object 161.890)

This sidesword is a composite of a reproduction of an existant blade and hilt, pommel and grip of my own design.

The original sword is located in the civilian armoury of Vienna (Bürgerliches Zeughaus), object 161.890.​1​

The reproduction of the blade is as close to the original as possible, yet with less decoration and blunt for sparring use.

  • Blade length: 904mm
  • Crossguard length: 188mm
  • Blade width at base: 30mm
  • Point of balance: 150mm
  • Weight: 920g

This sword has been used for two years before the photos were taken.
